Chocolate Fondue in Catering Services

Desserts are part of every celebration. This serves as “pampatanggal-umay” in common terms. Salads, cakes and other sweets are the most popular Catering Services desserts. Interestingly, desserts are becoming more stylish with the popularity of desserts like the chocolate fondue.

Chocolate fondue is a chocolate dessert served in a fountain with chocolate flowing on it instead of the usual water we see on common fountains. Fruits, marshmallow, biscuits and other pastry are the common food that blends well with a chocolate fondue. To eat them, you must dip your desired food to the chocolate fondue using a stick or a fork.

The popularity of the chocolate fondue is increasing especially during parties. Catering services are now offering chocolate fondue as part of their amenities. This is a great way to eat desserts while chit chatting to the other guests.

But do you know that you can also prepare this even during an ordinary day at home? Here’s how.

What you need: all-purpose cream, chocolate chips, pinch of salt

What you need to do:

  1.  Heat the all-purpose cream. Wait until it boils.
  2. After the cream boils, gradually add the chocolate chips. Stir until the chip and cream blends equally.
  3. Add a pinch of salt.

Commonly, the chocolate fondue is served in    a chocolate fountain. Catering services who serves chocolate fondue must really invest in a good chocolate fountain. A chocolate fountain is a device made of stainless steel. Usually, a chocolate fountain is composed of tiers (basin that holds the chocolate fondue), cone (the part where the chocolate can flow like a waterfall) and the auger (the part that makes the chocolate flow).

The main point of the fountain is not just to create the waterfall flow of the chocolate fondue but to keep the fondue hot so that it will keep melted. Once the device stops working, the chocolate fondue might get solid, thus it will not flow anymore and you cannot dip on it anymore.

Aside from the chocolate, you can also use white and dark chocolate chips in making your fondue. By adding some elements like instant coffee powder (to create a mocha like taste), orange zest (to create a fruity taste) or vanilla extract (to have a vanilla flavor), you can create a different taste to the usual chocolate fondue.

Desserts should be fun. Chocolate fondue served in a chocolate fountain is really a must try. It is an enjoyable way to eat desserts during parties. Kids and adults-young at hearts would really love this dessert.
